St. Edith School Education Committee
PARISH GOALS AND OBJECTIVES|
AS ESTABLISHED BY THE PASTORAL COUNCIL
FISCAL YEAR 2015/2016
To reach out to young adults (age 18-49yrs) in an effort to increase their level of activity with St. Edith Parish with the end result of getting them fully involved in the sacramental life of the Church.
OBJECTIVE 1: Increase young adult involvement in planning meetings. Worship, Christian Service, Education and the Evangelization Commission will all add at least one young adult member. This will be referred to all of the Commissions.
OBJECTIVE 2: Actively recruit young adults to become active in the liturgical ministries including ushers, Eucharistic Ministers, music ministers, art and environment and lectors. This will be referred to the Worship Commission.
OBJECTIVE 3: Focus groups will be conducted to determine the needs and wants of young adults in the Parish. The Parish Pastoral Council will analyze the results of these focus groups and make recommendations regarding things to be done/changed in the Parish. Action items will be referred to the appropriate Commissions and Parish groups.
To establish an evangelizing parish at St. Edith through faith-based programs to renew the participation of inactive members, reaffirm the faith of active parishioners and invite new people into a welcoming environment for all.
OBJECTIVE 1: Increase mass attendance to 30% of registered parishioners.
OBJECTIVE 2: Reach out to non-Catholics in the community.
OBJECTIVE 3: Establish a St. Edith School Marketing Committee, a sub-Committee of the School Committee to promote St. Edith School. The focus of this group is to increase enrollment in St. Edith School by reaching out to students who are not currently attending a Catholic School. They will consider the use of the internet and social media, and will collaborate with the St. Edith Parish Marketing Committee when appropriate.
